    great gate!
This is a great gate! We live in an old home so our stairs just don't allow room for a gate that swings opens and closed. We use this at the bottom of the stairs. There is a second set of fasteners so we could use this in another area of the house but we don't use it that way.

    Good, sturdy baby play pen
Really like this baby gate/play pen. It's sturdy enough for my active 9 month old who likes to push on it and see if he can escape. He walks now so it is nice to be able to place him in the pen when I'm not able to keep a close eye on him. I do wish the bars were softer or more padded, my son did hit his head on them a few times. Overall it was a good buy.

Good design to keep an eye on little ones playing.
I bought this playpen for my daughter's little girl.  She is 09mths old and very independent, so she loves crawling around and playing with her toys in it.  The panels are sturdy yet you can see through the material to keep an eye on things easily.  I purchased the interlocking foam mat too, and it seems to keep the gate from sliding around while providing softer flooring.

Product is okay, works as expected. Becareful winding this back up as it wrinkles the fabric and can jam while retracting.

    Worth it.
My daughter has been an escape artist since 4 months old. Strong and probes for weaknesses. Good problem solver. This thing is definitely baby proof. Perfect height, incredible quality, materials are safe. Super easy to take apart and put together.

    Maybe a little too sturdy
The quality is excellent and my infant loves to play inside. The only reason I’m giving it a 4 star is because the “netting” is incredibly strong and abrasive and my baby rubbed a raw spot on his head.

    This is one EXCELLENT gate.
This is one EXCELLENT gate. I have this installed at the bottom of my stairs and I have base moldings. Install was a little challenging, but the reward of a clean retractable gate makes up for it. Based on my images, to the left of the gate is my TV. If I was to get a regular swinging gate, its possible the gate would hit the TV. Also, it would look just plain ugly. Since my last step is not tied into the railing, I had to go one step up. Yes, this does make a clicking noise when closing the gate however; this can be a good thing or bad thing. Good because you are able to tell if someone opens the gate, but bad if you have another child sleeping. The workaround to make no clicking noises is that you then need two hands; one to hold the dial down and the other to retract the gate. This would be the ONLY time two hands would be needed. I have no regrets in purchasing this gate and I will be purchasing another one this week to place at the top of my stairs. Reading some reviews and people saying that it cannot be operated with one hand is ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE. I even saw a video on youtube of a women putting her infant down and trying to close the gate by holding the dial down and closing the gate, then stating that this is impossible. This is also NOT TRUE. The dial does not need to be held to to use the gate. Between me, my wife, and family members, we always go up and down the stairs to the baby room. We all use one hand to turn the dial to unlock the gate, and use the same hand to retract the gate. And guess what, all this is done while holding the baby in the other hand. Either I got a magical gate, or some people clearly don't know how to use this gate.

Returning. Simple to install, but terrible design.  No chance of this keeping a baby or pet in/out. The mesh (gate) will unlatch at the slightest push.

    Pricey but works ok.
Nice playpen for young ones. Quite sturdy if you set them up in the recommended configuration. Easy latch/unlatch lock for adults to come in and out of. A bit on the heavy side to move around.

    I highly recommend this gate.
This gate is Walmartzing.  I put this up to keep my dogs out of certain areas of my home. The gate is very easy to install. The design is excellent. The operation is flawless. It takes some thought to learn the operation process, which is simple yet unusual.

    Great Baby gate!
So far this has been a great baby gate. It works as expected plus we were able to mount it to block two different locations with just one gate! Although the instructions are terrible. And I highly recommend getting some real drywall anchors, the cheap plastic ones it comes with are very flimsy. We also could not find any specific directions for opening and closing the gate and from the reviews it seems a lot of people have had issues with this not being a one handed gate. After some experiments we determined To open this gate you just need to press and turn the locking mechanism. Then let go of the locking mechanism and the gate is free to move. (If you are trying to extend the gate, this must be done in one smooth motion. Once the gate stops it will lock and you will need to press and turn the lock again.) the lock does not need to be held down the entire time you are trying to open or close.  It is loud when it is retracting, but since it in in our living are it is not too bothersome. At least of our daughter manages to get it open somehow we will hear it.
