    Misleading *UPDATED*
This claims to be portable, but I call bull on that. This does NOT fold down, and does NOT have any way to carry it. No handles, no loops, nothing. It breaks down into three sections, two panels per section, and they are REALLY hard to get apart and put together. I wanted this to take with me when visiting friends so I could have my daughter with me and keep her out of trouble, but there's no way this is practical for portability. That said, if you want it in the home or as a permanent barrier, it'd honestly be great. It's REALLY sturdy and I love that it's mesh. It's a great design for a non-portable playard. If they update the description and remove the "portable" nonsense, I'd be happy to update my review. But as is, it's a lie. UPDATE: They have indeed changed the description. Kudos. Adjusted my rating.

... husband finally came across this one and it is perfect. It is worth the money
After buying and accidentally breaking several different baby gates my husband finally came across this one and it is perfect. It is worth the money. We needed it to keep the dog out of the basement so she wouldn't get in the cat litter box. Now that my nephew is crawling we also needed it to keep him from falling down the stairs to the basement. This gate was perfect because we could have a set of brackets at the  top of the stairs at the kitchen door for when my nephew was here and another set of brackets at bottom of the stairs to use when he isn't here. We're going to order another for the stairs to our second floor as well which will help me keep nephew from climbing the stairs and also make it so that I can put the second set of brackets in the door to my office to keep my dog from going and chewing up my vintage stuffed animals I also have displayed missing room.  It'll be a nice change from using  a folding chair to block my office door.

It works perfect for my use, but may not for everyone
I use this gate at the bottom of my boys' bunk bed steps to keep my toddler from going up them. They have one of those wooden bunk beds with the stairs over the dresser drawers. It works perfect for my use, but honestly I wouldn't use it to block an entry way that's used a lot. I only need to open it to let my oldest son on and off the bunk to go to sleep. If I was using this daily, I'd probably take it down because it can NOT be used one handed and I'm often going through or over our gates while holding the baby, so I only have one hand free. I gave it 3 stars because it clearly says in the description that it can be used one handed and that's not true. You need one hand to turn the dial and one hand to move the gate. When I tried to unhook the gate and then turn the dial, it whipped the gate around and hit me in the leg because it retracts like a retractable leash. My husband also tried to use the gate one handed and agreed that its not practical. It'd be a pain in high traffic areas.

    Won't Cramp Your Style
HUGE S/O to Skip Hop for this decor-friendly, non-offensive (color-wise) baby gate!  We're well on our way with our baby-proofing journey and the muted colors, care to detail (like mesh see-through sides,) and cuteness is so appreciated.  In a land of endless options, I'm so thankful there's a company that carries incredibly cute infant accoutrements! Also spoiler alert: if you're looking for a challenge this is not your item- assembly and breakdown are easy peasy and super convenient. Because, you don't need another extra curricular activity- you have a full time job.

    Nice Play Yard
This sucker is expensive but it's about as attractive as a play yard can be. Good size and all around great product.

    Two-Handed Operation Required
UPDATE: So apparently one-handed closing operation is possible. But it's tricky. You have to push the knob down and turn it. Once you release it, and it returns to it's original position, you are then able to pull the gate closed with one hand. ********** I use the gate at the top of my stairs for the dog. Opening the gate is easy, but it makes a loud clicking sound so you'll know it's being opened. The video showing the lady closing the gate with one hand is inaccurate. You actually need two hands to close the gate. When it's at the top of a staircase like mine is, this presents a falling hazard.

    Best gate money can buy
Best gate money can buy.  Be sure when installing that the brackets on the opposing side to the gate are PERFECTLY SPACED from the gate or it will not close tightly and you'll be redoing one of the brackets.

    Do NOT Buy!
This gate is dangerous.  Put it at the top of my stairs, used it for months and then it suddenly flew off my wall as my child (~21 pounds) was standing at the top of our stairs and hanging on to it.  My child fell down the stairs.  I am livid with this gate.  Do not buy.

    Dog keeper
So far it has worked great.  It allows us to sit out on the deck and keep the dog on the deck.  We have a few neighbor dogs that really like to bark when both are in the yard, this keeps them separated and quiet.  Installation was easy.  My favorite part and the reason I chose this over the solid baby gates was because I can leave it in the open position so I don't have to open it every time I let the dog out.  I only have to close it when I want to contain him.

    non bulky playyard
I’ve wanted to have a playyard like this but I’ve always hesitated because what’s on the market are those big bulky plastic ones and I didn’t want something that would be a big pain to put away when people came over or that would make my living room look like a daycare. This playyard solves both problems. It looks lovely and blends in with our decor. It also packs up easily and quickly when we need to put it away. The only downside is that while the walls are sturdy enough for any infant or toddler if you have a preschooler who likes to climb in, especially with shoes on, it might not hold up well to that sort of treatment.

    Nice space saver gate
I like it a lot.  My wife however is shorter than I am and has a difficult time stepping over it.

    Good gate.
So far so good. It looks good and retracts nicely. We've only had it up for a few days now. My only wish is that it were a bit shorter so that I could more easily step over it-- because while it's not hard to retract it and re-extend it, it takes more time than I want to spend to just get where I'm going. We have a small dog, and I thought he might be able to sneak under it, but there's no way he could. It's very taut.

This is a great baby/dog gate
This is a great baby/dog gate! We also have 2 cats, and they each can easily go under the gate, but our dog (who does not know he can jump over it) will be contained in (or out of) the room when we use it. It is also very durable as we have a toddler, and our dog is 90lbs and they both have tried to climb on it or put a bulk of their weight on the top rim for moments of time, and it has not been torn down, nor has the mesh been compromised. The mesh feels like a flexible plastic but is breathable. My only complaint is that when it closes, it has a loud "ratchet" sound and in order to avoid that loud noise (if small children are napping) then you need both hands to open it quietly which sometimes is not conducive to the "parent" lifestyle. For people who are not used to living with small children, there is a bit of a learning curve and takes 2-3 minutes (and a demonstration) to teach other people how to open and close it. This is by far the best gate we have for our kids and pets!

    Almost perfect
I really like the device.  The only issue I have is the screws were not long enough for what I needed and had to purchase new ones.  Minor issue.  I do recommend this gate!

    Does It's Job
We used this at the top of the stairs. It was fairly easy to install, though my husband wasn't thrilled about screwing it into the posts on either side of the stairs. It's pretty easy to use, but it is not super maneuverable if you are trying to do it one handed. It definitely takes some adjustment, and I think a regular gate might be easier at times. The baby likes it through, he can see through it and likes to push on it. It works with our dogs as well. It seems pretty sturdy, like I said, the baby pushes on it. The dog has scratched at it and pushed it with his nose. I worry about it sometimes because it's does push easily, but overall it doesn't move much even though it can be pushed.
