    Great!
    Easy assembly and gives a large area for play. I know some people complained about the spacing between panels but it’s not that big of a deal. Yes, they can get their hands through them but don’t have stuff within reach and it won’t be an issues in my opinion. Great neutral color for any space. Hanging play mat is cute and baby likes it. I would definitely recommend this.

    Poor instructions, but works as advertised
    The instructions weren't great, so the installation took a bit longer than I expected (loss of a star). Once it was installed, the gate is nice. It's so nice that it is so small when closed and I don't have to worry about tripping over a bar or worrying about the gate swinging closed. The knob requires a bit of force to open/close, but I consider this to be a good thing so only someone who should be opening/closing the gate can. It is frustrating that the knob has to be held down the entire time it is being closed to keep it from making a ton of noise (loss of a star).

    Nice gate but has some issues
    I overall like the gate but let me tell you it’s not always easy to unlock, I press down and flip the knob to unlock and it doesn’t work I have to do this sometimes up to 3 times before I can get the gate down. My dog is a puppy and is able to wiggle under it no matter how close I get to the floor so I’m going to have to wait for him to get bigger before I’ll be totally happy with it. Visually looks great but the sound isn’t the best. The company should work on making it quiet.

    Love this!
    I loved the idea of a retractable gate so I purchased this and it does live up to the hype! The instructions were clear and set up was a breeze.  The locking mechanism is easy to use and clicks into place.  It's a sturdy, high quality product and I just purchased 2 more to replace my other eye-sore gates.

    Easy to install
    Easy to install. Extra brackets were nice. Takes some skill/teaching to get it to work with just one hand. Overall pleased with the purchase.

    good gate - worth the extra $$
    I use this gate at the bottom of the steps.  It is nice that when not in use it isn't in the way....nothing to step or trip over.  Sometimes the gate can be a little tricky to open and close, but overall the pros outweigh the cons.

    Not user friendly
    Unfortunately this gate isn’t very user friendly. We end up stepping over it most of the time because getting it closed is so difficult. We should have just purchased a swing open style.

    Had to learn how to use the gate correctly, but what a great gate!
    At first we struggled as we mounted the hardware incorrectly so my daughter was able to press against fabric and release gate. We had the catches turned 90 degrees the wrong direction. Next we struggled with the noise of the gate closing waking up our daughter, but a quick reread of the directions and we realized that holding down the knob let the gate retract silently.

    Ugh, it's a huge pain to go through the trouble of drilling and installing this gate just to find out we HATE it. I read the reviews but maybe I just wanted to see the good ones more:( 1. It's loud. Annoyingly, will wake up my 2 and 4 year old loud. We use the gate at the top of the stairs for nighttime in case they wake up halfway and come to our room. When we are ready to go to bed we close it but it is so practically impossible to close right the first time, we almost always have to open and close again. The loud sound is a protection I suppose but is really way to loud. Wish I could turn it off. What a waste of money.

    NOT WORTH IT
    They are extremely difficult to latch and unlatch. Not to mention they don't pull tight so my toddler simply crawls under it.

    The best thing ever invented!
    Oh my god, this was the best money I’ve ever spent!! I’ve had this for 2 years now so I’m writing this review with 2 years of experience. So I was looking for a play pen that wasn’t hard plastic because my rambunctious child kept banging her head on the colorful plastic play pen panels I initially purchased. Between the plastic and all the holes for her to stick her hands through, I was over that one QUICK! I came across this, but it was WAY more expensive than the North States plastic play pen. After hours of shopping online and reading every review on every different play pen I eventually pulled the trigger and I couldn’t be happier that I did. There were so many different ways I was able to configure this to make it work as the baby got older and even as we moved into a different house. I don’t know how anyone could say this is dangerous. I have the most rambunctious child who has been into EVERYTHING for the past 2 years. If there was a way to escape or hurt herself with this play pen, she would hands down be the kid to figure it out. After 2 years, I no longer have use for this Walmartzing invention so I happily gifted it to a friend with a 09 month old. I am so glad I could pass it along to get more use and to make my friend’s life a little easier as her little one starts walking. If you’re looking for a play pen, don’t even look further. This is it!!!!

    Up in the air on this one
    Although I like the gate and the ease of use, I cannot give it 5 stars. From the dogs leaning on it and the cat jumping over it, it frayed and tore quickly. And it does not lock in place. Any small child could unhook it and  get through. It serves its purpose for us, but it just doesn’t last long enough. This is our second one. If this one also doesn’t last, we will not use this brand ever again.
